About Us

THE MISSION
The mission of the Colorado International School (CoIS) is to provide the highest quality international education in a language immersion environment to prepare its students for lifelong learning and future educational success. The goal of CoIS is to prepare students (preschool through eighth grade) to become great American citizens and world leaders as our world increasingly becomes an integrated global community.  To achieve this goal, the administration, teachers and parents of CoIS work to meet the objective of imparting the values of global stewardship and multicultural appreciation to students in an environment of academic achievement and social well-being.

THE HISTORY
CoIS was formed in 2005, when a group of dedicated parents, educators and members of community organizations came together to form a school based on the model of American international schools located abroad. In the two years since its inception, CoIS has rapidly built an impressive reputation as a unique school that prepares children to become highly educated citizens and world ambassadors.

THE VISION
The vision for CoIS was also born in part out of the work of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), which designated 2005 as the Year of Languages. This program was developed to promote the social and economic benefits of studying other languages and cultures from around the world and positively influence the range of language programs in U.S. schools and communities. With this shared vision, CoIS is striving to bring world-class international education to students from all backgrounds, regardless of cultural or socioeconomic status.
