The mission of the Colorado International School (CoIS) is to provide the highest quality international education in a language immersion environment to prepare its students for lifelong learning and future educational success. The goal of CoIS is to prepare students (preschool through eighth grade) to become great American citizens and world leaders as our world increasingly becomes an integrated global community.
Colorado International School was proud to be the first and only accredited international immersion school in Denver, Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region (AdvancED).
THE IB MISSION
CoIS is a proud IB World School, authorized to implement the Primary Years Programme (PYP). We fully support IB’s Mission, as follows:
- The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
- To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
- These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
CoIS was formed in 2005 when a group of dedicated parents, educators and members of community organizations came together to form a school based on the model of American international schools located abroad. In the thirteen years since its inception, CoIS has rapidly built an impressive reputation as a unique school that prepares children to become highly educated citizens and world ambassadors.
